NPR AND LIBERAL INDOCTRINATION OF PRISONERS
In Massachusetts prisons, only two news radio stations have enough bandwidth to penetrate the steel and concrete cellblocks and housing units: National Public Radio stations WGBH and WBUR.
Each spread a progressive liberal brand of indoctrination that is akin to Bolshevik propaganda than American market democracy. NPR is in the news because one of their senior editors Uri Berliner penned a scathing piece for a publication called Free Press exposing the public news organization for its lefty ''Wokeism''. Suddenly, establishment liberals like Juan Williams and others who worked at NPR agreed adding their voices to the growing criticism of NPR and its vast network of left leaning Democrat controlled radio and television stations. Suddenly, the whispers have grown into full throated allegations of leftist ''Woke'' propaganda. And, politicians like Donald Trump have called on Congress to defund NPR. ''NO MORE FUNDING FOR NPR, A TOTAL SCAM!'' Said Trump on Truth Social. ''WOKE NPR EXPOSED'' said Fox News. And, recently, Margaret Lowe, CEO of NPR radio station in Boston, WBUR said they have lost 40% percent of their financial support due to a significant loss in support from the business community. In Boston, and beyond, public radio was the gold standard of reporting and editorial content, today it's avoided by people offended by a constant flood of identity politics, climate change hysteria, gun restriction indoctrination, big government solutions, and relentless support for abortion. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting was chartered in 1967 by Lyndon Baines Johnson as part of his Great Society; programs benefiting rural Americans. President Johnson, a shrewd politician, saw the value of a network of radio and television programming that could be used as ''education'' and bring radio into the homes of ''under developed rural'' communities. Today, NPR and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting has grown into a vast propaganda megaphone amplifying progressive socialism. Until 1984 the Corporation for Public Broadcasting was not allowed ''editorial'' freedom. But, in a landmark decision by the FTC Public Broadcasting was allowed to editorialize. The flood gates opened with programs like MacNeil Lehrer Report and Washington Week in Review and other editorial programs dressed up as news. Today, the original mission of the Corporation for Public broadcasting has become lost, replaced by ultra partisan programming that demonizes Western culture and values, diminish contributions from White Americans in favor of DEI and Critical Race Theory. Victimhood is celebrated and Conservative values are held in contempt. In Massachusetts, the two public broadcasting giants are WGBH and WBUR. Each hold a special place in the minds of progressive liberalism. These radio stations have been the soundtrack for millions of students educated in this nations Ivy League institutions. Young students at Harvard and MIT and so many other bastions of once elite education tuned into WGBH and WBUR for their smart reporting and edgy politics. Not so much anymore. Berliner wrote: ''Confidence in the media has tanked, including among Democrats. It's a good time for us to look in the mirror.'' Sadly, for an entire segment of the listening public, conservatives, Republicans, and those listeners seeking fair and balanced journalism, the damage is done. NPR has grown comfortable in its echo chamber of socialist bromides and contempt for White people, Western institutions: anybody or group that deviates sightly from party orthodoxy is tuned out.
The one group embracing the message of National Public Radio is prisoners. The incarcerated. The poor and disenfranchised who tune into NPR for steady reassurance that the problem is White Supremacy; Colonialism; racism, and capitalism. NPR carefully threads a not too subtle message. Capitalism is a pox, and the only cure for White injustice is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. NPR indoctrination is professional and insidious. Messaging is slick and carefully produced. On-air talent are practiced articulate and invested in socialist indoctrination, asking the right questions, avoiding any messaging that may challenge orthodox liberal Democrat talking points. During call in shows, like ''Boston Public Radio with Jim Braude and Margery Egan,'' their shameless brand of lefty programming only amplify voices hostile to conservative points of view, demonize Donald Trump, attack anyone who questions climate change or a woman's right to an abortion. Identity politics demands Black and Brown voices trump White grievance or concerns. Self loathing runs deep in lily-white NPR. It is transparent how programs like ''Basic Black'' and others are allowed to express the most racist animosity toward White people, and White America, opinions which would never be acceptable coming from a White person on any platform are embraced by NPR. NPR demands money during their fund drives, yet insult and demean capitalism and the market economy. Features promoting the socialist Bernie Sanders are common. WGBH champions Elizabeth Warren and her ''tax the rich'' programs to support Socialist programs for the poor, illegal immigrants, and host of social welfare spending. When Margaret Lowe, CEO of WBUR told her audience their station was losing millions in support, she never explained why? Only that businesses were moving their advertising dollars elsewhere. There is a reason for this exodus of financial support. NPR and Boston Public Radio programs have been biting the hands that feed them for too long. And, now, supporters can carefully control their dollars on internet platforms. When Donald Trump called NPR ''A LIBERAL DISINFORMATION MACHINE'' on his Truth Social, he was speaking out loud what many listeners have felt and have been afraid to say for many years. But, as supporters drifted away, and funding to NPR dried up, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is now getting the message.
